Metal Braces

Smartclip™ - Smartclip Patient Information Brochure
3M Unitek Smartclip™ self-ligating braces are the modern choice for orthodontics.  The archwire clips into the slot of each bracket eliminating the use of elastic bands.  This advanced design leads to less time in the treatment chair, fewer visits, shorter overall treatment time, and easier cleaning.

Traditional Metal Braces (discontinued)

Traditional metal braces are the most common type of braces used in most every office in town.  With metal braces, you have the option of adding colored elastics (rubber bands) for a more unique and colorful smile, however due to bacteria accumulation they may cause permanent damage to the teeth due to the inability to keep them clean. The traditional metal products used by Dr Comella were the best technology at the time, however, with the introduction of the SMARTLCIP systems tradional metal systems will be soon outdated technology.  Since Dr. Comella wants only to use materials and methods of the highest quality that benefit the patient in every way possible, he has chosen to discontinue traditional metal systems.

Invisible (Clear) Orthodontic Appliances

Invisalign®
Invisalign uses a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable aligners to straighten your teeth. And, no one can tell you are wearing Invisalign because it’s invisible! Not only are the aligners invisible, they are removable, so you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment, plus brushing and flossing are less of a hassle. The aligners are comfortable and have no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment. However, there are mechanical limitations to the Invisalign system and Dr. Comella will discuss with you if it is an option that will result in a long term stable result.  Click here to learn more Invisalign.
